Welcome to my website. I am Professor of Psychology and Infectious Disease in the Department of Experimental and Applied Psychology at VU Amsterdam.

My work is dedicated to better understanding how people navigate threats and opportunities posed by social living. I use a combination of ideas and techniques from social psychology, personality psychology, behavioral genetics, and evolutionary biology to better understand the human mind.
